Description
Origin & Traditional Use
A bowl carved from black stone, used for scrying by filling it with water or oil and gazing at the surface. Water scrying is one of the oldest forms of divination.
Uses in the Work
Fill it with water, ink-darkened water or oil, set a candle so its light does not reflect directly, and gaze into the surface until images form. In demon work, ask the spirit to show you an answer in the water. On a full moon, catch the moon’s reflection in the bowl for lunar divination. Use it also as an offering bowl for libations.
