Description
Origin & Traditional Use
Exorcism oil is a traditional condition oil, usually based on herbs like rue, hyssop and frankincense, used in folk magic and hoodoo to drive out evil spirits and break curses.
Uses in the Work
Dress white or black candles to break hexes and remove unwanted spirits, anoint doors and windows after a cleansing, and add a few drops to a floor wash. In demonolatry, use it to clear hostile or unwanted entities and the energy of an attack, not the spirits you have invited. Anoint yourself before entering a space you suspect is haunted.

Lore
The Catholic Rituale Romanum of 1614 set out the formal rite of exorcism, used by priests for centuries. Folk exorcists without priestly authority used herbs, oils and salt to the same end.
