Description
Origin & Traditional Use
Sulfur, the brimstone of the Bible, is a yellow mineral used for thousands of years in fumigation, gunpowder and matches. This sulfur has been ritually consecrated for use in spellwork.
Uses in the Work
Use it in serious banishing, cursing and protection. Add a pinch to Hot Foot powders, War Water and protection bottles, and sprinkle a line across a threshold an enemy will cross. In infernal and Luciferian rites it is the fire of the underworld, so place a small dish on the altar when calling Lucifer, Satan or the infernal princes. Burn it only outdoors and with great care, as the fumes are toxic.
Pairs Well With
Three Kings Charcoal – 10 Tablets; Lucifer Anointing Oil – 2 dram; Black Arts Oil – 4 dram
Lore
Sulfur was the “brimstone” of Sodom and Gomorrah and the smell of hell. In alchemy it was one of the three principles, with mercury and salt, the fiery soul of all things. Medieval preachers taught that the Devil left a smell of sulfur behind him.
