Description

Origin & Traditional Use

Chime candles are small, slim candles that burn in about one to two hours, making them ideal for a single spell, daily offerings and candle grids. Their name comes from the German angel chimes, little brass carousels spun by the heat of these candles. In candle magic a purple candle is burned for power, mastery and psychic ability.

Uses in the Work

Small spell candles that burn in about an hour, made for focused workings carried through to completion in a single sitting. Purple belongs to Jupiter: command over spirits, spiritual authority, expansion and psychic power. Burn it on a Thursday in the hour of Jupiter. Chimes are ideal for daily rituals, quick petitions and multi-candle layouts. Set several in a circle around a petition, or burn one each day for seven days. Always let them burn out completely; snuffing a chime breaks its single-sitting purpose.
