Devil’s Shoestring Root – 1 oz

$27.45

Description

Origin & Traditional Use

Devil’s shoestring is the long, thin root of plants of the honeysuckle and viburnum family, gathered in the American South. In hoodoo it is a protective and luck-drawing root that “trips up the Devil”.

Uses in the Work

Use it to trip up enemies and evil spirits. Lay pieces across the threshold or under the doormat to block harm from entering, and carry it for luck in gambling and in job hunting. Steep it in whiskey or oil to make a powerful protection and luck formula. In binding work it is wrapped around a petition or poppet to tie up an enemy’s plans.

Pairs Well With

Black Cat Bone; Conjure Oil – 1 oz; Devil’s Claw Root – 1 oz

Lore

The name comes from the hoodoo belief that its long, stringy roots trip up the Devil and any evil coming your way. Hoodoo practitioners nail it over the door, put it in a mojo bag with a lodestone, or hide it in the shoe of someone going for a job interview.
