Description
Origin & Traditional Use
Red sandalwood comes from an Indian tree whose heartwood is a deep blood red. It has little scent and is used mainly as a dye and in red incense blends, and as a symbol of blood, passion and vitality.
Uses in the Work
Use it in love, lust, blood and power. It is the classic base for red incense powders and is used to colour and “heat” workings with Mars, Lilith and Asmodeus. Mix it into blood-substitute inks for sigils and pacts, and add it to protection and uncrossing blends. It dyes everything it touches, so it makes a powerful visual element in the work.
