Description
Origin & Traditional Use
Citrine is yellow to golden quartz, cut as a gemstone and much of it made by heating amethyst. In crystal practice it is the stone of abundance, success, confidence and joy.
Uses in the Work
Use it as a stone of the Sun and wealth. Place it in the cash register, wallet or the north of the altar in money workings with demons such as Clauneck, Belial or Bael. Charge it on a Sunday for success, confidence and recognition, and carry it to keep energy high during long rites. It is one of the few crystals said never to need cleansing.
Pairs Well With
Sun Planetary Oil – 2 dram; Pyrite – 1 lb Tumbled; 9″ Gold Taper Candle
Lore
Natural citrine is rare. Most on the market is amethyst heated until it turns gold, and the Romans already knew how to do this. Citrine is called “the merchant’s stone”, and shopkeepers traditionally keep a piece in the till to draw custom and money.
