Description
Origin & Traditional Use
Malachite is a banded green copper mineral, polished into jewellery, boxes and inlay and once ground for green pigment. In crystal practice it is used for transformation, protection and drawing prosperity.
Uses in the Work
Use it for transformation, money and protection. Place it in the north with pyrite and citrine in prosperity grids, and carry it through life changes after a pact or dedication. It is protective in travel and is suited to work with Venusian spirits of love and beauty. Do not soak it in water or salt, and cleanse it in smoke or moonlight instead.

Lore
Egyptians ground malachite for eye paint, and it was thought to protect the wearer from evil and eye disease. In medieval Europe it was hung on children’s cradles to keep spirits away. Russia’s Ural mines produced such huge malachite that whole rooms in the Winter Palace are panelled with it.
