Description
Origin & Traditional Use
Moonstone is a feldspar with a soft, floating blue-white sheen. It has been set in jewellery since Roman times and in crystal practice is used for intuition, emotional balance, dreams and the cycles of the Moon.
Uses in the Work
Use it in lunar workings, dreamwork and the cultivation of intuition. Charge it at the full moon and carry it through the cycle, or place it under the pillow to strengthen prophetic dreams with Astaroth or Lilith. Set it in the west at the water quarter, and use it in glamour and love workings. It suits women’s mysteries and work with lunar goddesses such as Hecate, Selene and Diana.
Pairs Well With
Moon Planetary Oil – 1 oz; Selenite – 1 lb Tumbled; White Willow Bark – 1 oz
Lore
Romans believed moonstone was moonlight made solid and that it changed with the phases. In India it is sacred and traditionally laid out on display under a full moon to absorb its power. Its sheen, called adularescence, is named after Mount Adula in the Swiss Alps.
