Origin & Traditional Use
Sunstone is a feldspar with a sparkling copper-gold shimmer. It is cut as a gemstone and in crystal practice is used for confidence, vitality, leadership and joy, carrying the energy of the Sun.
Uses in the Work
Use it in workings of personal power, leadership, vitality and solar authority, charged at noon on a Sunday in the hour of the Sun. Place it on the altar when working with the solar and Luciferian current of light-bearing, enlightenment and the illumination of the self. Carry it to counter lethargy and despair after long or draining work, and use it in prosperity grids alongside citrine and pyrite.

Lore
Sunstone is a feldspar whose glitter comes from tiny plates of copper or hematite inside it. Some readers connect it with the sólarsteinn of the Viking sagas, the “sun stone” used to find the sun through clouds, though scholars usually identify that stone as Iceland spar. Oregon sunstone is that state’s official gem.
