Description
Origin & Traditional Use
A ritual sword is a ceremonial blade used in Western ceremonial magic and initiatory orders to cast the circle, command spirits and administer oaths. In ritual it is usually wielded by the person leading the rite.
Uses in the Work
Use it as the master tool of authority in ceremonial evocation and circle casting, held aloft to open the rite and pointed to each quarter to summon and command. It is suited to oath ceremonies, dedications and initiations, laid across the shoulders or held while the vow is spoken. On the altar it stands as the emblem of your sovereignty in the working and the fire of will.

Lore
In ceremonial magic the sword belongs to the master of the rite. The Key of Solomon lists several swords, the master’s blade among them, and Masonic and Golden Dawn ritual later adopted the sword for initiations and oaths, a tradition modern Luciferian orders continue.
