Description
Origin & Traditional Use
A pillar candle is a thick, free-standing candle that burns for many hours, the traditional altar candle of churches and temples. Pillars suit long workings and are often carved and dressed over several sessions. In candle magic a pink candle is burned for romance, friendship and affection.
Uses in the Work
A tall ritual pillar for long rites, temple work and devotional flame. Pink belongs to Venus: love, tenderness, friendship and self-love. Burn it on a Friday in the hour of Venus. Use pillars as the two pillars of the temple, black for Boaz and white for Jachin, or set them at the four quarters. Carve sigils deep into the wax, since pillars burn long enough for the work to settle.
