Description
Origin & Traditional Use
Benzoin is a resin from Styrax trees of Southeast Asia with a sweet vanilla scent. It is used in perfumery, as a fixative in incense and potpourri, and in traditional preparations such as tincture of benzoin.
Uses in the Work
Use it as a fixative and purifier in incense blends. A pinch makes other resins burn longer and fixes the intention. Burn it alone to clear the mind before study, divination and magical writing, and add it to blends for Mercury and Venus. In oils and powders it helps set the charge.
