Origin & Traditional Use

Chime candles are small, slim candles that burn in about one to two hours, making them ideal for a single spell, daily offerings and candle grids. Their name comes from the German angel chimes, little brass carousels spun by the heat of these candles. In candle magic a black candle is burned for protection, banishing, binding and work with the dead.

Uses in the Work

Burn one per day for seven days over a petition, or set several in a ring around a target’s name for heavy banishing and binding. Always let them burn out; snuffing a chime breaks its single-sitting purpose.
