Black Triple Moon candle

$26.35

Description

Origin & Traditional Use

A pillar candle is a thick, free-standing candle that burns for many hours, the traditional altar candle of churches and temples. Pillars suit long workings and are often carved and dressed over several sessions. These candles honour the Moon and the goddess in her phases, and are burned in lunar workings, devotion to Hecate and goddess rites.

Uses in the Work

The triple moon candle of waxing, full and waning, for lunar magic and the threefold goddess. Black belongs to Saturn and the night: banishing, binding, protection, adversarial and shadow work, and the darkness from which light emerges. Burn it on a Saturday, in the hour of Saturn. Burn it through the phases of the Moon, or in devotion to Hecate, Selene and Artemis as maiden, mother and crone.
