Description
Origin & Traditional Use
The Book of Four Occult Philosophers collects the fundamental texts of four Renaissance magicians, including the Fourth Book of Occult Philosophy attributed to Agrippa, the Heptameron of Peter de Abano and texts on geomancy and magic. It is a core source book of grimoire magic.
Uses in the Work
Use it to study the original methods of spirit conjuration behind the later grimoires: the Heptameron’s circles and planetary conjurations, Agrippa’s methods of making and consecrating seals, and the art of geomancy. It is essential for anyone working Solomonic or ceremonial evocation from the sources. Keep it beside your book of shadows, and record what you test in practice alongside the author’s method.

Lore
The collection was first printed in English by Robert Turner in 1655. Agrippa’s own Three Books of Occult Philosophy (1533) became the encyclopedia of Renaissance magic, though the “Fourth Book” was disowned by his pupil Johann Weyer as a forgery.
