Description

Origin & Traditional Use

This is a scented jar candle made for a specific intention, poured into glass so it can burn safely for many hours. Jar candles are used as devotional lights and for workings that need to be held over several days. Cleansing and releasing candles are burned to clear away negative energy, unwanted influences and old attachments, making space for what comes next.

Uses in the Work

For cleansing and release: to sweep away residue, stagnation and lingering spirits, and to purify the temple before and after the work. Light it, then sweep or smoke the space from the back of the house toward the front door. Open the door to let it all out and close it firmly behind.

Pairs Well With

Hyssop – 1 oz; White Sage – 1 oz; Banishing Spell Mix

Lore

Sweeping out evil with a broom is among the oldest household magics. Brooms were laid across thresholds to keep witches, or spirits, from crossing.
