Clear quartz, or rock crystal, is pure colourless quartz. It is used in electronics and watches for its steady vibration, and in crystal practice it is the “master healer” and all-purpose amplifier.

Uses in the Work

Use it as an all-purpose amplifier. Place it on any altar to strengthen the working, at the points of a grid, or on top of a sigil to boost its charge. Program it with a single intention and carry it as a charged talisman, and use a point to direct energy in casting. It can stand in for almost any other stone in a working.

Lore

The Greeks thought clear quartz was ice frozen so hard by the gods it would never melt; its name comes from krystallos, “ice”. Aboriginal Australians and many other cultures used quartz crystals in shamanic initiation and rainmaking, and quartz is still used in watches and radios for its precise vibration.
