Description

Origin & Traditional Use

The Magickal Botanical Oracle is a card deck in which each card shows a magical plant, with its correspondences and uses. Oracle decks are used for divination and guidance and are freer in structure than tarot.

Uses in the Work

Draw a card to choose the herb for a spell or to ask which plant ally a spirit wants as an offering. Use it to learn herbal correspondences, and lay cards around a working as an “herb grid” when you lack the physical plant. It is a fine teaching deck for green witchcraft within demonolatry.

Lore

Herbals that link plants to planets and spirits go back to the Greek Magical Papyri and to Culpeper’s seventeenth-century herbal, which assigned every plant to a ruling planet. Oracle decks, unlike tarot, have no fixed number of cards.
