Description
Origin & Traditional Use
Myrrh is an aromatic resin from trees of the Horn of Africa and Arabia, burned as incense and used in perfume, embalming and anointing oil since antiquity.
Uses in the Work
Burn it for necromancy, ancestor rites, scrying and chthonic deities such as Hecate and Anubis. It deepens trance and pairs with frankincense when a rite must touch both the heights and the underworld. In Luciferian practice it represents the shadow side of the light-bearer.
Pairs Well With
Frankincense Tears – 1 oz; Anubis Statue 12″; Black Obsidian Scrying Mirror with Stand – 12cm
Lore
Myrrh was one of the gifts of the Magi and a key ingredient of Egyptian embalming, linking it forever to death and the passage between worlds.
What You Receive
Resin incenses are the top of the line in incense burning. Using incense charcoal as a base you can release the intense fragrance of these fine resin granules — without the dilution or alteration of scent caused by a burning base or the fixatives typical in man-made stick or cone incense. 1 oz.
