Description

Origin & Traditional Use

This is a botanica-style tin candle, poured into a metal tin and dressed for a single intention. Candles like this are sold in Latin American botanicas for every saint, spirit and need, and burned on home altars as a prayer and a petition. Santa Muerte candles are burned in devotion to the Mexican folk saint Holy Death, for protection, justice, love and her favour.

Uses in the Work

Santa Muerte, the Most Holy Death, the bony lady who answers when other saints will not. She is petitioned for protection, justice, love and the settling of scores. Offer it with tequila, cigarette smoke, red roses and an apple. Speak plainly, as she favors directness. Thank her publicly when she delivers, and never make a promise to her that you will not keep.

Pairs Well With

Red Rose Buds & Petals – 1 oz; Mystic Skull; Graveyard Dirt – 1 oz

Lore

Her devotees say she is the most loyal of protectors and the most jealous. Broken promises are said to be repaid in kind.
