Description
Origin & Traditional Use
Drip candles are made to run with wax as they burn, leaving trails and pools of colour. They are used decoratively on altars and bottles and in ceromancy, the reading of melted wax. In candle magic a red candle is burned for love, passion and courage.
Uses in the Work
Drip candles whose flowing wax becomes an oracle, the art of ceromancy. Red belongs to Mars: passion, lust, courage, vitality and martial will. Burn it on a Tuesday in the hour of Mars. Burn them over a dish of cold water or a white plate, then read the shapes the dripping wax makes as answers from the spirits.
